It is very annoying when the box pop-ups for several seconds and very often when I use Safari/Chrome I want to go to the last tab. It will save me probably few hours per year if I could change somehow position of the notification pop-up box to another corner.
Is it possible?

I totally agree - it is incoherent. I don't understand why this feature is not configurable - a lot of people around me curse it. This is something basic and simple. I am developer so I use OSX daily for a lot of hours and I must still turn off notification because this position of popup is really the worst. If it was up in the middle of the screen, so it would be much better that this terrible solution. UI antipattern ....
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
